What we collect on this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy covers the public website at volts.live, in both its English and Bulgarian versions.
It does not cover the Volts application at cloud.volts.live, which you use under a separate agreement, and it does not cover data your landlord, employer or property manager processes in that application. If you are a tenant asking why your consumption appears in a Volts system, the organisation that operates your building is responsible for that data, not this website.
The demo form collects your email address, nothing else. We also record which page you submitted it from and whether you were reading the site in English or Bulgarian, so the person who replies knows what you were looking at.
We use it to contact you about the demo you asked for and to answer whatever follows. The legal basis is that you asked us to take steps before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our own products.
The partner form collects your name, company, country, what you install, your email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number. We use it to assess the application and to contact you about it, on the same legal basis as above.
Our form endpoint limits how many submissions can come from one internet connection, to stop automated abuse. To do that it stores a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address for ten minutes. The address itself is never written down in readable form, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.
We do not attach your browser's user agent, an advertising identifier or an analytics identifier to anything you submit through a form.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, as every web host does.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful. It runs under Google Consent Mode with every storage category switched off by default, so until you accept cookies, Google Analytics sets no cookies on your device and receives no identifier that persists between visits.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies that let it recognise a returning browser and measure how the site is used. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the consent banner back.

The first four are needed for the site to work as you would expect and are not used to track you across other websites.
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, and Google receives your IP address in order to serve them. This happens on every page, before any consent question, because the page cannot render without its fonts. We are noting it because it is a transfer of data to a third party and you are entitled to know about it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Your submissions are stored and read within the European Union.
Google may process the analytics and font data described above outside the European Union, including in the United States, under the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
If you contact us and do not become a customer, we keep your details for 24 months from your last contact with us, and then delete them. We chose that period because decisions about buildings are slow and an enquiry can reasonably resume a year or more later.
If you do become a customer, your data is kept for as long as our contract requires and for any period the law obliges us to retain records.
You can ask us to delete it sooner, at any time.

Write to hello@volts.live and we will answer within one month. Exercising any of these rights is free and we will not treat you differently for it.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection at cpdp.bg, or to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
If we change how this site handles personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects people who have already contacted us, we will tell them directly.
