Questions
Can you work with the smart devices I already have?
In most cases, yes. We assess what you have and fold compatible devices into the system. Anything we can’t integrate cleanly, we’ll tell you up front.
Does it work with Alexa and Google Assistant?
Yes. Voice control sits on top of the system, so you can run lights, climate and scenes through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It’s optional, though — because the home runs locally, your switches, app and scenes keep working whether or not you ever add a voice assistant.
Which protocols and ecosystems do you support?
Open protocols by default — Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Modbus and RS-485 — so you’re never locked into a single vendor’s cloud.
Does it still work if the internet goes down?
Yes. Core scenes — lighting, climate, security — run locally on the hardware. The cloud and app add remote access and monitoring on top, but the home keeps working without them.
Who can see my home’s data, and where is it stored?
Your home is yours. Day-to-day automation runs locally on your own hardware, so it never has to leave the house.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size of your home and the tiers you choose — the price calculator on this page gives you an instant ballpark, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts.
How long does a typical installation take?
It depends on scope — from a couple of weeks for a Basic install to several weeks for a full home. You get a fixed timeline in your quote before any work starts.
Do you have to tear up walls? Can you retrofit a home that’s already finished?
No! Volts SmartHome solutions need no demolition or construction work. We work with wireless protocols like Zigbee and Wi-Fi and use your existing wiring, so we can fit out an already finished home with minimal disruption.
Can I start small and expand later?
Absolutely. We design the wiring and hub so you can begin with a few rooms or tiers and add scenes, rooms and devices over time without ripping anything out.
What happens after install — who do I call if something breaks?
Volts — you deal with us directly. If anything ever needs attention, you reach a real engineer who knows your system, not a reseller who disappears after handover.
Which regions do you cover?
We install in residential properties across Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, coordinated from our Sofia base. Outside that area, get in touch and we’ll see what’s possible.
