FAQ

Indoor air quality without oversimplified claims

Do we need a sensor in every room?

Not necessarily. Start with high-occupancy, complaint-heavy or operationally important zones. Final coverage depends on room layout, air movement, sensor range and the decisions the data must support.

What does CO₂ tell us?

Indoor CO₂ can indicate how ventilation is performing relative to occupancy when placement and context are appropriate. It is not a standalone diagnosis of health, air freshness or a legal breach.

Can ventilation react automatically?

Where Volts can reach an approved BMS or relay point, a configured condition may trigger a response.

Is air quality a separate system from metering?

No. Supported air-quality sensors use the same Volts locations, permissions, alerts and reports, allowing comfort data to sit beside energy and equipment operation.

Are the thresholds legal or health limits?

Not by default. Volts thresholds are operational settings chosen for the site. Volts does not publish a regulatory or certification threshold.

How often are sensors calibrated or replaced?

Calibration, verification and replacement follow the sensor manufacturer’s guidance, and the responsibility for each is agreed at handover.

Can tenants or guests see the readings?

Role-based dashboards or displays can expose approved information, scoped to the sites and zones that role covers.

Can Volts prove that complaints will fall?

Volts can document conditions, response time and repeated exceptions. It should claim a reduction in complaints only where the building has measured that outcome against an agreed baseline.
