ESG & CO₂ evidence

Turn metered consumption into ESG evidence that stands up to scrutiny.

Build emissions indicators from traceable readings, documented factors and explicit boundaries - then deliver the evidence without another year-end collection exercise.

Start every emissions figure at its source reading.

Keep the site, meter, utility, period and data-quality state behind every calculated indicator. Reviewers can move from the portfolio number back to the evidence instead of trusting a pasted total.

  • Calculate operational indicators by site, meter, utility and reporting period.
  • Mark measured, substituted and estimated data separately.
  • Preserve the source reading and calculation version behind every result.

Show the method before sharing the number.

An emissions total is meaningful only when its factor, geography, market treatment, organisational boundary and version are explicit. Volts keeps those choices with the output sent to each stakeholder.

  • Apply emission factors to approved consumption data.
  • Export the figures with the readings behind them.

Connect every reduction claim to the action behind it.

Track what changed in the building, who approved it and how consumption moved against the agreed baseline. Sustainability teams report the result; operations retain the work that produced it.

  • Compare actual performance with the agreed baseline period.
  • Link the measured variance to completed operational or investment actions.
  • Keep disclosure evidence separate from any claim of certification or assurance.

Collect data through operations. Reuse it for reporting.

Volts uses the authorised meter and system data already maintained for building operations. ESG reporting becomes a governed output of the same data flow, not a parallel spreadsheet process.

FAQ

ESG and CO₂ without compliance theatre

Does Volts make our ESG reporting compliant?

No software can make that claim by itself. Volts provides the measured data and the calculation evidence behind it. Framework scope, disclosures, controls, assurance and final compliance remain with the reporting organisation and its advisers.

Where do the CO₂ numbers come from?

They begin with approved consumption data. Every published indicator retains both the reading and the factor applied.

Can we report by building instead of only by company?

Yes. Volts can aggregate authorised readings by site, meter, utility and period, then roll them up to the portfolio boundary selected for the report.

Why change if we already report in spreadsheets?

Keep the final reporting tool if it works. Volts removes the repeated collection and reconciliation beneath it by maintaining source readings, calculation versions and data-quality states through the year.

How are renewable contracts or guarantees of origin handled?

Volts reports measured consumption and the emission factors applied to it. Renewable and market-based claims are outside that scope.

How does Volts handle estimated or missing data?

An estimated or substituted value is marked as one, so it never appears indistinguishable from a measured reading.

Which frameworks can we export to?

Volts exports the underlying data. Data export is not the same as full framework compliance.

Can we prove an emissions reduction came from our action?

Volts can connect the action to before-and-after performance. The claim carries its boundary, period, assumptions and uncertainty.
